Everything Menopause - all in one place...

Introducing Lynda

My name is Lynda Allison and I am 51 years of age. If you are on my website “The Menopause Boutique”, then, like me, you are experiencing what I have been through or searching for advice to help someone you know.

You may have visited your GP or maybe you have been prescribed HRT or another medical alternative but the symptoms of menopause are unique to each of us and one size does not fit all!

There are 34 symptoms of menopause and so it is a very personal journey for each of us. In my search for information I soon discovered I had to trawl through website after website, spending hours looking for answers. The Menopause Boutique brings together this information under one roof, please enjoy the journey and follow me.

In sharing my pages and blogs with you, I am hoping you will become one of my followers. We have exciting and informative times ahead, looking at all the current topics in relation to menopause.  We can make comments and share experiences.

My boutique is coming soon and here you will find natural products that have been tried and tested, natural products for all the symptoms of the menopause, along with some “time for me” products which are not for sharing!

Nutrition in Menopause

Good nutrition is the foundation of good health. It would be very easy for me to recommend various supplements and products but really without a good basic diet, you would be wasting your time and money along the way.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is very personal, it means something different to all of us. The way you feel, both physically and mentally, is the very essence of life. For me it is all about feeling good, feeling happy but more importantly feeling comfortable and confident in my own skin!

Decreasing levels of oestrogen affect the hypothalamus which is responsible for setting our body temperature. The hypothalamus mistakenly senses the body is overheating. What follows is a sudden feeling of intense heat, which spreads across the face, neck, and chest and can result in red, flushed skin, palpitations and excessive sweating.

Skincare & Haircare

Due to the fluctuation in hormones our skin and hair take a massive hit becoming increasingly oily, blemish prone and hard to manage. We can suffer from hormonal breakouts, dryness due to the slowing down of sebaceous glands, dehydration as the skin loses its ability to hold onto water, a decrease in collagen production (it drops by 30% in the first five years), increased sensitivity and pigmentation.
